24/06/11 Tomintoul 27yo

Another camping dram tonight. 27yo Tomintoul and since we’re camping at Aviemore it’s a good local choice.

Oranges, honey, beautiful aged sweet oak, sweet vanilla cream. Very smooth and a lovely long finish with a gentle whiff of sweet peat.

It’s a really pleasant dram, beautifully balanced.

A very solid 3/5.

The self-proclaimed gentle dram.

It’s certainly that: sweet barley, a little whiff of smoke, soft red apples. Some light acidic orange. Subtle spicing. Quite prominent grain.

My only criticism is that it’s a little thin.

2/5. A wee bit uninspiring but still a worthy dram.
