15/08/11 Glentauchers
Glentauchers is right in the heart of Speyside but it’s not a well-known dram, not by me anyway. This is my first dram from them. A 43% bottling from G&M.
It’s a light bodied dram, quite refreshing with a little red apple, really lovely simple barley and cereal but it all goes a bit thin and dull.
It tastes stronger than the advertised 43% and it’s not the smoothest delivery i’ve ever experienced.
Decent enough, it’s whisky so i’ll drink it but it’s better than Jura or Balvenie DW (the only official 1/5′s i can recall from the top of my head).
