Wow, so similar in so many respects to last nights dram and yet so different.
Huge sherry, beautifully defined. Cherries, prunes, Christmas pud, liquorice again. Treacle, heavy tannins, deep spices just like Black Art 1 but, woah, this is far more intense. Huge depth of flavour. Massive finish, so long and flavoursome.
Seriously impressive dram, such massive flavours, beautifully balanced.
Perhaps less subtle than it’s predecessor but I much prefer it. Is it a 5? Mmm, not quite.
4.5/5
Yet more gratitude is due to Joshua Hatton for the dram. Yossi, you’re a gentleman and a scholar.
What a big complex bugger of a dram this is!
Waxy
Red apples
Strawberries
Some oil
Liquorice
Black pepper
Dry fruits, intense and spicy. Cherries? Port influence here?
Brown sugar
Treacle
Heavy tannins
What an interesting whisky this is, really unusual.
With water it all comes together more cohesively.
3.5/5
Sincere thanks to Joshua Hatton for the dram. Slainte Yossi and l’chayim!
