Glenburgie tonight, a relatively little-known distillery. I always assumed it was Speyside (it’s near Forres) but the bottle clearly says Highland so who am I to argue?
This is a Gordon & MacPhail bottling, 40%.
It’s sweet but slightly sulphuric (a candle in the cask maybe?). The nose is a wee bit odd actually, it’s little bit earthy and a bit…thin. Some ripe dark fruit: cherries and blackberries. Walnuts. Orange zest. Decent length of finish and it’s nicely malty and fruity.
