17/06/11 Aberlour A’bunadh
Aberlour A’bunadh Batch 20. This is the 4th or 5th different batch of A’bunadh that I’ve had and, surprisingly, they do vary quite a lot.
A real sherry monster, cask strength, A’Bunadh (ah-boona). It’s usually made, I’m told, from casks ranging from 5-25yo but with no age statement.
The nose is sheer Oloroso, rich sweet, heavily spiced and intense. Beautifully clean on the palate with chocolate, raisins, kirsch, orange zest, ginger.
The finish is beautifully rounded and lengthy.
So this is a really good example of the brand, there’s really little to complain about, especially when you consider the price.
